• In recent years, explosive devices have emerged as the weapon of choice for terrorists and terrorirst activity continues unabated throughout the world.
• The use of explosive detection dog teams has proved to be one of the most effective and efficient means for detecting potential threats as well as providing a highly visible deterrent to a terrorist attack.
• Bomb attacks occur abrupt and without pre-notice.
• Technical detecting machines are expensive but nevertheless not effective as well trained canines.

• Bomb dogs can be used in a "dual-use" mode (patrol and detector dog) and do not increase budgets or cost factors.
• Dog teams are faster for deployment.
• Dog teams are easier to handle and maintain as high-tech computers

Sprengstoffspürhunde

• Sprengstoff- oder Bombenattentate stellen eine reale Bedrohung dar und erfolgen meist unvorbereitet und ohne Vorankündigung.
• Technische Spürgeräte sind sehr teuer und trotzdem den Sinnesleistungen gut ausgebildeter Hunde weit unterlegen.
• Spürhunde können im dual-use-Verfahren (Schutz- und Sprengstoffspürhund) bei allen Polizeikorps, Grenzwache, Sicherheitsdiensten, etc. dauernd im Einsatz stehen.
• Deshalb sind diese Hunde schneller am Ereignisort als die technischen Spür- und Röntgengeräte und Roboter.

• Hunde können überall erfolgreich eingesetzt werden.
• Hunde können in kurzer Zeit auf neue Sprengstoff- oder Bombengerüche trainiert werden.
• Hunde sind ein festes Sicherheitselement bei Polizei- und Sicherheitsdiensten in Länder  und Regionen mit höherer Bombengefährdung als der Schweiz und haben sich äusserst bewährt.
• Hunde sind wesentlich einfacher im Handling und in der "Wartung" als Maschinen.
